REIMAGINED AS A JEWEL

For our fourth creative collaboration with Guerlain, we return to the world where fragrance, jewellery and exceptional craftsmanship meet. This time, our story begins with L’Heure Bleue, one of Guerlain’s most poetic creations and an icon shaped by that fleeting moment between daylight and night, when the sky takes on a mysterious shade of blue.

There is something almost impossible to capture about the blue hour. It exists only for a few minutes, suspended between two worlds, before disappearing again. That sense of transience became the starting point for our creation. Working with Guerlain once more, we reimagined the iconic Flacon Cœur Inversé as an exceptional jewel, transforming the bottle through one of the flowers at the heart of L’Heure Bleue: the Iris.

Nature has always been central to the Begüm Khan universe. We are drawn to flowers, insects and creatures not simply as motifs, but as characters waiting to be transformed. We like to take something familiar and make it bolder, more precious and a little unexpected. For L’Heure Bleue, we imagined the iris almost taking over the bottle, growing across its surface in a sculptural cascade of blue.

The flowers move through an extraordinary spectrum of colour, from luminous turquoise and icy azure to deep sapphire and midnight tones. Their palette follows the changing light of the blue hour itself, while the bottle becomes part of the same visual movement. Glass, metal, stones and colour come together as one composition, giving the impression that this fleeting moment has somehow been captured and held still.

Behind the dream is an extraordinary exercise in craftsmanship. The floral composition is created from 12,224 individual gems, each one hand set into 24 carat gold plated bronze. Thousands of stones build the texture and volume of the irises, while glimpses of gold emerge between the petals like fine lines of light. From a distance, the flowers feel almost organic; up close, every surface reveals the precision and patience behind the work.

For us, this is where jewellery becomes something more than ornament. It becomes sculpture, texture and movement. Each stone contributes to the whole, allowing the flowers to feel alive while preserving the intricacy and discipline of traditional craftsmanship.

This creation marks our fourth collaboration with Guerlain, and over time this relationship has developed into an ongoing creative dialogue. What began as a meeting between two different worlds has grown into a shared language built around craftsmanship, nature, heritage and imagination. Each project gives us the opportunity to enter Guerlain’s extraordinary history and interpret it through our own visual universe, not by changing its heritage, but by dreaming around it.

Across our collaborations, iconic Guerlain creations have entered the Begüm Khan world through flowers, icons, colour and jewellery craftsmanship. With L’Heure Bleue, the approach feels more intimate and poetic. Rather than imagining an entire garden or universe around the bottle, we focused on one flower, one colour and one fleeting moment, allowing the iris to carry the story.

The Iris felt instinctively right for this creation. Elegant yet strong, delicate yet architectural, its form already carries the kind of duality we love. We exaggerated its petals, played with scale and covered its surface in thousands of stones, transforming the flower into something almost otherworldly. The result sits somewhere between jewellery and sculpture, between botanical form and fantasy, exactly where we like our work to exist.

Created around Guerlain’s emblematic Flacon Cœur Inversé, L’Heure Bleue by Begüm Khan is presented as a 1.5 litre exceptional creation in a limited and numbered edition of 66 pieces. It brings together Guerlain’s heritage of Haute Parfumerie with our own approach to jewellery craftsmanship, creating an object where French perfume history meets Istanbul savoir faire, and where fragrance, jewellery and decorative art become part of the same story.

At Begüm Khan, we have always believed that jewellery can be more than something to wear. It can create a world, tell a story and turn the familiar into something extraordinary. With L’Heure Bleue, that idea takes on a new form: a fragrance bottle becomes a jewel, an iris becomes a sculpture, and a fleeting blue hour becomes something that can last forever.
